1 Давид1732 убежал1272 из Навафа5121 в Раме7414 и пришел935 и сказал559 Ионафану:3083 что сделал6213 я, в чем неправда5771 моя, чем согрешил2403 я пред3942 отцом1 твоим, что он ищет1245 души5315 моей?

2 И сказал559 ему Ионафан: нет,2486 ты не умрешь;4191 вот, отец1 мой не делает62136213 ни большого,1419 ни малого6996 дела, не открыв1540 ушам241 моим; для чего же бы отцу1 моему скрывать5641 от меня это дело?1697 этого не будет.

3 Давид1732 клялся7650 и говорил:559 отец1 твой хорошо3045 знает,3045 что я нашел4672 благоволение2580 в очах5869 твоих, и потому говорит559 сам в себе: «пусть не знает3045 о том Ионафан,3083 чтобы не огорчился»;6087 но жив2416 Господь3068 и жива2416 душа5315 твоя! один только шаг6587 между мною и смертью.4194

4 И сказал559 Ионафан3083 Давиду:1732 чего желает559 душа5315 твоя, я сделаю6213 для тебя.

5 И сказал559 Давид1732 Ионафану:3083 вот, завтра4279 новомесячие,2320 и я должен3427 сидеть3427 с царем4428 за398 столом;398 но отпусти7971 меня, и я скроюсь5641 в поле7704 до вечера6153 третьего7992 дня.7992

6 Если отец1 твой спросит6485 обо мне, ты скажи:559 «Давид1732 выпросился7592 у меня сходить7323 в свой город5892 Вифлеем;1035 потому что там годичное3117 жертвоприношение2077 всего родства4940 его».

7 Если на это он скажет:559 «хорошо»,2896 то мир7965 рабу5650 твоему; а если он разгневается,2734 то знай,3045 что злое7451 дело решено3615 у него.

8 Ты же сделай6213 милость2617 рабу5650 твоему, — ибо ты принял935 раба5650 твоего в завет1285 Господень3068 с тобою, — и если есть3426 какая вина5771 на мне, то умертви4191 ты меня; зачем тебе вести935 меня к отцу1 твоему?

9 И сказал559 Ионафан:3083 никак2486 не2486 будет2486 этого с тобою; ибо, если я узнаю3045 наверное,3045 что у отца1 моего решено3615 злое7451 дело совершить935 над тобою, то неужели не извещу5046 тебя об этом?

10 И сказал559 Давид1732 Ионафану:3083 кто известит5046 меня, если отец1 твой ответит6030 тебе сурово?7186

11 И сказал559 Ионафан3083 Давиду:1732 иди,3212 выйдем3318 в поле.7704 И вышли3318 оба8147 в поле.7704

12 И сказал559 Ионафан3083 Давиду:1732 жив Господь3068 Бог430 Израилев!3478 я завтра4279 около этого времени,6256 или послезавтра,7992 выпытаю2713 у отца1 моего; и если он благосклонен2895 к Давиду,1732 и я тогда же не пошлю7971 к тебе и не открою1540 пред ушами241 твоими,

13 пусть то и то3541 сделает6213 Господь3068 с Ионафаном3083 и еще3254 больше3254 сделает.3254 Если же отец1 мой замышляет3190 сделать тебе зло,7451 и это открою1540 в уши241 твои, и отпущу7971 тебя, и тогда иди1980 с миром:7965 и да будет Господь3068 с тобою, как был с отцом1 моим!

14 Но и ты, если518 я буду еще жив,2416 окажи6213 мне милость2617 Господню.3068

15 А если я умру,4191 то не отними3772 милости2617 твоей от дома1004 моего во5704 веки,5769 даже и тогда, когда Господь3068 истребит3772 с лица6440 земли127 всех врагов341 Давида.1732

16 Так заключил3772 Ионафан3083 завет с домом1004 Давида1732 и сказал: да взыщет1245 Господь3068 с врагов341 Давида!1732

17 И снова3254 Ионафан3083 клялся7650 Давиду1732 своею любовью160 к нему, ибо любил157 его, как свою душу.5315

18 И сказал559 ему Ионафан:3083 завтра4279 новомесячие,2320 и о тебе спросят,6485 ибо место4186 твое будет не6485 занято;6485

19 поэтому на третий8027 день8027 ты спустись3381 и поспеши3966935 на то место,4725 где скрывался5641 ты прежде, и сядь3427 у681 камня68 Азель;237

20 а я в ту сторону6654 пущу3384 три7969 стрелы,2671 как будто стреляя7971 в цель;4307

21 потом пошлю7971 отрока,5288 говоря: «пойди,3212 найди4672 стрелы»;2671 и если я скажу559 отроку:5288 «вот, стрелы2671 сзади тебя, возьми3947 их», то приди935 ко мне, ибо мир7965 тебе, и, жив2416 Господь,3068 ничего тебе не будет;

22 если же так скажу559 отроку:5958 «вот, стрелы2671 впереди1973 тебя», то ты уходи,3212 ибо отпускает7971 тебя Господь;3068

23 а тому, что мы говорили,1696 я и ты, свидетель Господь3068 между мною и тобою во5704 веки.5769

24 И скрылся5641 Давид1732 на поле.7704 И наступило новомесячие,2320 и сел3427 царь4428 обедать.3983899

25 Царь4428 сел3427 на своем месте,4186 по обычаю,6471 на седалище4186 у стены,7023 и Ионафан3083 встал,6965 и Авенир74 сел3427 подле6654 Саула;7586 место4725 же Давида1732 осталось6485 праздным.6485

26 И не сказал1696 Саул7586 в тот день3117 ничего, ибо подумал,559 что это случайность,4745 что Давид нечист,11152889 не очистился.2889

27 Наступил и второй8145 день новомесячия,2320 а место4725 Давида1732 оставалось6485 праздным.6485 Тогда сказал559 Саул7586 сыну1121 своему Ионафану:3083 почему сын1121 Иессеев3448 не пришел935 к обеду3899 ни вчера,8543 ни сегодня?3117

28 И отвечал6030 Ионафан3083 Саулу:7586 Давид1732 выпросился7592 у меня в Вифлеем;1035

29 он говорил:559 «отпусти7971 меня, ибо у нас в городе5892 родственное4940 жертвоприношение,2077 и мой брат251 пригласил6680 меня; итак, если я нашел4672 благоволение2580 в очах5869 твоих, схожу4422 я и повидаюсь7200 со своими братьями»;251 поэтому он и не пришел935 к обеду7979 царя.4428

30 Тогда сильно разгневался6392734 Саул7586 на Ионафана3083 и сказал559 ему: сын1121 негодный5753 и непокорный!4780 разве я не знаю,3045 что ты подружился977 с сыном1121 Иессеевым3448 на срам1322 себе и на срам1322 матери5176172 твоей?

31 ибо во все дни,3117 доколе сын1121 Иессеев3448 будет2425 жить2425 на земле,127 не устоишь3559 ни ты, ни царство4438 твое; теперь же пошли7971 и приведи3947 его ко мне, ибо он обречен1121 на смерть.4194

32 И отвечал6030 Ионафан3083 Саулу,7586 отцу1 своему, и сказал559 ему: за что умерщвлять4191 его? что он сделал?6213

33 Тогда Саул7586 бросил2904 копье2595 в него, чтобы поразить5221 его. И Ионафан3083 понял,3045 что отец1 его решился3617 убить4191 Давида.1732

34 И встал6965 Ионафан3083 из-за стола7979 в великом2750 гневе639 и не обедал3983899 во второй8145 день3117 новомесячия,2320 потому что скорбел6087 о Давиде1732 и потому что обидел3637 его отец1 его.

39 Отрок5288 же не знал3045 ничего;3972 только Ионафан3083 и Давид1732 знали,3045 в чем дело.1697

40 И отдал5414 Ионафан3083 оружие3627 свое отроку,5288 бывшему при нем, и сказал559 ему: ступай,3212 отнеси935 в город.5892

41 Отрок5288 пошел,935 а Давид1732 поднялся6965 с681 южной5045 стороны и пал5307 лицем639 своим на землю776 и трижды79696471 поклонился;7812 и целовали5401 они друг376 друга,7453 и плакали1058 оба376 вместе,7453 но Давид1732 плакал более.1431

42 И сказал559 Ионафан3083 Давиду:1732 иди3212 с миром;7965 а в чем клялись7650 мы оба8147 именем8034 Господа,3068 говоря:559 «Господь3068 да будет между мною и между тобою и между семенем2233 моим и семенем2233 твоим», то да будет на5704 веки.5769

Chapter 20

1 AND David fled from Jonath, which is in Ramtha, and came and said to Jonathan, What have I done? And what is my offence? And what is my crime before your father that he seeks my life?

2 And Jonathan said to him, God forbid; you shall not die; behold, my father does nothing either great or small which he does not reveal to me; and why should my father hide this thing from me? It is not so.

3 And David swore moreover, and said, It is because your father knows that I have found favor in your eyes; therefore he has said. Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved; but truly as the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death.

4 Then Jonathan said to David, Whatever you desire, I will do for you.

5 And David said to Jonathan, Behold, tomorrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit in the presence of your father to eat; but let me go that I may hide myself in the field until the third day at evening.

6 If your father should miss me, then say to him. David earnestly asked leave of me that he might go to Beth-lehem his city; for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family.

7 If he says thus, It is well; then your servant shall have peace; but if he is displeased, then be sure that evil is determined by him.

8 Therefore you shall deal kindly with your servant; for you have brought your servant into a covenant of the LORD with you; but if there is folly in me, slay me yourself; why should you bring me to your father?

9 And Jonathan said, God forbid; for if I knew of a certainty that evil were determined by my father to come upon you, then I would come to you and tell you.

10 Then David said to Jonathan, Who shall report to me, if your father answers you roughly?

11 And Jonathan said to David, Come, and let us go out into the field. So they both went out into the field.

12 And Jonathan said to David. The LORD God of Israel be a witness that I will sound my father about this time tomorrow, the third hour; and behold, if he feels good toward you, then I will send to you, and disclose it to you;

13 The LORD do so and much more to Jonathan; but if it please my father to do you harm, then I will disclose it to you, and send you away that you may go in peace; and the LORD be with you as he has been with my father.

14 And if only you will show me the kindness of God while I live, before I die;

15 And also you shall not cut off your kindness from my house for ever, when the LORD destroys the enemies of David from the face of the earth;

16 So Jonathan's house shall flourish with the house of David; and may the LORD take vengeance on David's enemies.

17 And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him; for he loved him as he loved his own soul.

18 Then Jonathan said to him. Tomorrow is the new moon; and you shall be missed, because your seat will be empty.

19 And when at the third hour you will be wanted very much, then you shall come tomorrow to the place where you hid yourself, and you shall sit down beside the same stone.

20 And I will shoot three arrows to the side of it, as though I shot at a mark.

21 And. behold, I will send a lad to go to gather up the arrows. And if I should say to the lad, The arrows are on this side of you, take them and come; then you will know and see that there is peace to you, there is no danger, as the LORD liveth.

22 But if I say thus to the lad, Behold, the arrows are beyond you; then go your way; for the LORD has sent you away.

23 And as for the matter of which you and I have spoken, behold, the LORD is between you and me forever.

24 So David hid himself in the field; and when the new moon came, the king sat down to dine.

25 And the king sat upon his seat by the wall as at other times; and Jonathan went and sat upon a seat, and Abner sat by Saul's side, but David's place was empty.

26 Nevertheless Saul did not say anything that day; for he thought, Something has happened to him, or perhaps he is unclean, or perhaps he has not purified himself.

27 And it came to pass on the morrow, the second day of the new moon, David's place was still empty; and Saul said to Jonathan his son, Why has not the son of Jesse come to eat, either yesterday or today?

28 And Jonathan answered and said to Saul his father, David earnestly asked leave of me to go to Beth-lehem;

29 And he said, Let me go, for our family has a sacrifice in the city; and my brother has commanded me to be there; and now, if I have found favor in your eyes, let me get away and see my brothers. That is the reason he has not come to the king's table.

30 Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said to him, O you rebellious son, do I not know that you are delighted in the son of Jesse to your own shame and to the shame of your mother's nakedness?

31 For as long as the son of Jesse lives upon the earth, you shall not be established, nor your kingdom. Therefore, now I will send and have him brought to me, for he shall surely die.

32 And Jonathan answered and said to Saul his father, Why should he be put to death? What has he done?

33 And Saul lifted up a javelin to smite him; whereby Jonathan knew that his father was determined to slay David.

34 So Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger, and did not eat food the second day of the month; for he was grieved for David, because his father had determined evil against him.

35 And it came to pass in the morning, Jonathan went out into the field to meet David, and a little lad was with him.

36 And he said to his lad, Run, gather up the arrows which I shoot. And as the lad ran, he shot an arrow beyond him.

37 And when the lad came to the place where Jonathan had shot the arrow, Jonathan called after the lad and said, Behold, the arrow is beyond you.

38 And Jonathan called again after the lad, saying, Make haste, quick, stay not. And Jonathan's lad gathered up the arrows and brought them to his master.

39 But the lad knew not anything; only Jonathan and David knew the matter.

40 And Jonathan gave his weapons to his lad, and said to him, Go, carry them to the city.

41 And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose from beside the stone and came to Jonathan and fell on his face to the ground and bowed himself three times; and they kissed each other, and wept over each other; but David wept more.

42 Then Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, inasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the LORD, saying, The LORD be between me and you and between my descendants and your descendants forever. Then Jonathan arose and went into the city.

3 And David swore moreover, and said, It is because your father knows that I have found favor in your eyes; therefore he has said. Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved; but truly as the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death.

4 Then Jonathan said to David, Whatever you desire, I will do for you.

5 And David said to Jonathan, Behold, tomorrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit in the presence of your father to eat; but let me go that I may hide myself in the field until the third day at evening.

6 If your father should miss me, then say to him. David earnestly asked leave of me that he might go to Beth-lehem his city; for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family.

12 And Jonathan said to David. The LORD God of Israel be a witness that I will sound my father about this time tomorrow, the third hour; and behold, if he feels good toward you, then I will send to you, and disclose it to you;

13 пусть то и то3541 сделает6213 Господь3068 с Ионафаном3083 и еще3254 больше3254 сделает.3254 Если же отец1 мой замышляет3190 сделать тебе зло,7451 и это открою1540 в уши241 твои, и отпущу7971 тебя, и тогда иди1980 с миром:7965 и да будет Господь3068 с тобою, как был с отцом1 моим!

13 The LORD do so and much more to Jonathan; but if it please my father to do you harm, then I will disclose it to you, and send you away that you may go in peace; and the LORD be with you as he has been with my father.

14 Но и ты, если518 я буду еще жив,2416 окажи6213 мне милость2617 Господню.3068

14 And if only you will show me the kindness of God while I live, before I die;

15 А если я умру,4191 то не отними3772 милости2617 твоей от дома1004 моего во5704 веки,5769 даже и тогда, когда Господь3068 истребит3772 с лица6440 земли127 всех врагов341 Давида.1732

15 And also you shall not cut off your kindness from my house for ever, when the LORD destroys the enemies of David from the face of the earth;

16 Так заключил3772 Ионафан3083 завет с домом1004 Давида1732 и сказал: да взыщет1245 Господь3068 с врагов341 Давида!1732

16 So Jonathan's house shall flourish with the house of David; and may the LORD take vengeance on David's enemies.

17 И снова3254 Ионафан3083 клялся7650 Давиду1732 своею любовью160 к нему, ибо любил157 его, как свою душу.5315

17 And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him; for he loved him as he loved his own soul.

18 Then Jonathan said to him. Tomorrow is the new moon; and you shall be missed, because your seat will be empty.

19 And when at the third hour you will be wanted very much, then you shall come tomorrow to the place where you hid yourself, and you shall sit down beside the same stone.

20 а я в ту сторону6654 пущу3384 три7969 стрелы,2671 как будто стреляя7971 в цель;4307

20 And I will shoot three arrows to the side of it, as though I shot at a mark.

21 потом пошлю7971 отрока,5288 говоря: «пойди,3212 найди4672 стрелы»;2671 и если я скажу559 отроку:5288 «вот, стрелы2671 сзади тебя, возьми3947 их», то приди935 ко мне, ибо мир7965 тебе, и, жив2416 Господь,3068 ничего тебе не будет;

21 And. behold, I will send a lad to go to gather up the arrows. And if I should say to the lad, The arrows are on this side of you, take them and come; then you will know and see that there is peace to you, there is no danger, as the LORD liveth.

22 если же так скажу559 отроку:5958 «вот, стрелы2671 впереди1973 тебя», то ты уходи,3212 ибо отпускает7971 тебя Господь;3068

22 But if I say thus to the lad, Behold, the arrows are beyond you; then go your way; for the LORD has sent you away.

23 And as for the matter of which you and I have spoken, behold, the LORD is between you and me forever.

24 И скрылся5641 Давид1732 на поле.7704 И наступило новомесячие,2320 и сел3427 царь4428 обедать.3983899

24 So David hid himself in the field; and when the new moon came, the king sat down to dine.

25 Царь4428 сел3427 на своем месте,4186 по обычаю,6471 на седалище4186 у стены,7023 и Ионафан3083 встал,6965 и Авенир74 сел3427 подле6654 Саула;7586 место4725 же Давида1732 осталось6485 праздным.6485

25 And the king sat upon his seat by the wall as at other times; and Jonathan went and sat upon a seat, and Abner sat by Saul's side, but David's place was empty.

26 Nevertheless Saul did not say anything that day; for he thought, Something has happened to him, or perhaps he is unclean, or perhaps he has not purified himself.

27 And it came to pass on the morrow, the second day of the new moon, David's place was still empty; and Saul said to Jonathan his son, Why has not the son of Jesse come to eat, either yesterday or today?

28 And Jonathan answered and said to Saul his father, David earnestly asked leave of me to go to Beth-lehem;

29 он говорил:559 «отпусти7971 меня, ибо у нас в городе5892 родственное4940 жертвоприношение,2077 и мой брат251 пригласил6680 меня; итак, если я нашел4672 благоволение2580 в очах5869 твоих, схожу4422 я и повидаюсь7200 со своими братьями»;251 поэтому он и не пришел935 к обеду7979 царя.4428

29 And he said, Let me go, for our family has a sacrifice in the city; and my brother has commanded me to be there; and now, if I have found favor in your eyes, let me get away and see my brothers. That is the reason he has not come to the king's table.

30 Тогда сильно разгневался6392734 Саул7586 на Ионафана3083 и сказал559 ему: сын1121 негодный5753 и непокорный!4780 разве я не знаю,3045 что ты подружился977 с сыном1121 Иессеевым3448 на срам1322 себе и на срам1322 матери5176172 твоей?

30 Then Saul's anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said to him, O you rebellious son, do I not know that you are delighted in the son of Jesse to your own shame and to the shame of your mother's nakedness?

31 ибо во все дни,3117 доколе сын1121 Иессеев3448 будет2425 жить2425 на земле,127 не устоишь3559 ни ты, ни царство4438 твое; теперь же пошли7971 и приведи3947 его ко мне, ибо он обречен1121 на смерть.4194

31 For as long as the son of Jesse lives upon the earth, you shall not be established, nor your kingdom. Therefore, now I will send and have him brought to me, for he shall surely die.

32 И отвечал6030 Ионафан3083 Саулу,7586 отцу1 своему, и сказал559 ему: за что умерщвлять4191 его? что он сделал?6213

32 And Jonathan answered and said to Saul his father, Why should he be put to death? What has he done?

33 And Saul lifted up a javelin to smite him; whereby Jonathan knew that his father was determined to slay David.

34 So Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger, and did not eat food the second day of the month; for he was grieved for David, because his father had determined evil against him.

35 And it came to pass in the morning, Jonathan went out into the field to meet David, and a little lad was with him.

36 And he said to his lad, Run, gather up the arrows which I shoot. And as the lad ran, he shot an arrow beyond him.

37 And when the lad came to the place where Jonathan had shot the arrow, Jonathan called after the lad and said, Behold, the arrow is beyond you.

38 И опять кричал7121 Ионафан3083 вслед310 отроку:5288 скорей4120 беги,2363 не останавливайся.5975 И собрал3950 отрок5288 Ионафанов3083 стрелы26712678 и пришел935 к своему господину.113

38 And Jonathan called again after the lad, saying, Make haste, quick, stay not. And Jonathan's lad gathered up the arrows and brought them to his master.

39 Отрок5288 же не знал3045 ничего;3972 только Ионафан3083 и Давид1732 знали,3045 в чем дело.1697

39 But the lad knew not anything; only Jonathan and David knew the matter.

40 И отдал5414 Ионафан3083 оружие3627 свое отроку,5288 бывшему при нем, и сказал559 ему: ступай,3212 отнеси935 в город.5892

40 And Jonathan gave his weapons to his lad, and said to him, Go, carry them to the city.

41 Отрок5288 пошел,935 а Давид1732 поднялся6965 с681 южной5045 стороны и пал5307 лицем639 своим на землю776 и трижды79696471 поклонился;7812 и целовали5401 они друг376 друга,7453 и плакали1058 оба376 вместе,7453 но Давид1732 плакал более.1431

41 And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose from beside the stone and came to Jonathan and fell on his face to the ground and bowed himself three times; and they kissed each other, and wept over each other; but David wept more.

42 И сказал559 Ионафан3083 Давиду:1732 иди3212 с миром;7965 а в чем клялись7650 мы оба8147 именем8034 Господа,3068 говоря:559 «Господь3068 да будет между мною и между тобою и между семенем2233 моим и семенем2233 твоим», то да будет на5704 веки.5769

42 Then Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, inasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the LORD, saying, The LORD be between me and you and between my descendants and your descendants forever. Then Jonathan arose and went into the city.
